Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy became effective as of October 15, 2009 and was last updated on June 6, 2024.

At Cupid Intimates we’re committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and therefore don’t sell or rent our customers’ Personal Information (as defined below in the Personal Information Definition section) to any third party. Furthermore, we don’t share Personal Information with any third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

The CupidIntimates.com website (the "Site") is owned, operated, and maintained by Cupid Foundations, Inc. which does business as Cupid Intimates. We refer to Cupid Foundations, Inc. as Cupid Intimates, the "Company," "we," "us," or "our."

This page sets forth our policies regarding the use and disclosure of information we collect from, or obtain about the Site’s users. We refer to these policies as our “Privacy Policy.” In addition to the lower-case words “we,” “us,” and “our” defined above, you’ll notice that we capitalize certain words in this Privacy Policy even though the rules of grammar don’t require that they be capitalized. We do this because these words have specific meanings in this Privacy Policy. These specific meanings are found where the capitalized words are placed in bold text and/or inside quotation marks.

We hope this Privacy Policy will answer your questions regarding how we treat information gathered from our Site. If you have questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Policy, other than requests for our information-sharing practices as described in the first paragraph above, please feel free to contact us at site_administrator@cupidintimates.com or, if you wish to exclude your Personal Information from our direct marketing programs including emails, please refer to the section entitled “How to Opt-Out” below.

This Privacy Policy governs the use of the Site and all the websites operated by us, except where the Company may have a separate policy in place for a specific website other than the Site (an “Other Website”). In such a case, the policy applicable to the Other Website will be available at the Other Website and will govern the use of the Other Website. Any Personal Information that we may obtain through means other than the Site, such as by phone or postal mail, will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and our use of such Personal Information will be consistent with this Privacy Policy. By accessing and using the Site, you’re agreeing to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you aren’t authorized to use the Site. Furthermore, by providing us with Personal Information on this Site, you fully understand and unambiguously consent to the collection and processing of such information in the United States in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

As we update and diversify our products and services, this Privacy Policy may change. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this Privacy Policy at any time. Please check this page for updates periodically. If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we’ll notify you here. Unless the law otherwise requires, we don’t provide notice of changes to this Privacy Policy and your use of the Site following any posted changes will indicate your acceptance of such changes. This Privacy Policy became effective October 15, 2009 and was last updated on September 27, 2022.

2. What Information Do We Actively Collect and Inactively Gather?

Information About You

When you make a purchase on the Site or when you register an account on the Site, we may collect information about you including the following: your name, phone number, email address, street address, and other addresses as applicable, such as your billing or shipping address, if different from your street address. If you prefer not to disclose your information online, you can always place your order by calling 1-800-273-1659 (toll free).

Although you may be prompted to provide your credit card information to place an order on the Site or by phone, such information is collected directly by a third party to process the order. We do not retain any payment information you provide for the placement of an order.

We may periodically conduct surveys of visitors to our Site for internal, market research purposes. This helps us better understand what our customers would like to see from us. If you respond to such surveys, we may ask you for some information about yourself and/or may contact you for more information - but only if you’ve given us permission to do so.

We may also receive information about you from other sources.

Site Usage Information

We may collect from you (including through our third-party service providers) information that relates to your activities on the Site. For example, we might track information about the date and time you access the Site, the type of web browser you use, and/or the website from which you connect to our Site.

We may also collect information from your activities on the Site for the purposes of providing advertisements and other content to you at the Site that are customized to your interests and preferences. To accomplish all this, and to allow us to offer our customers streamlined access to Site features, we, as do many websites, use the technologies listed below and other similar technologies (the “Tracking Technologies”).

Cookies and Clear GIFs

Cookies are pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your device’s hard drive. Cookies make web surfing easier for you by saving your customer identification information while you’re at our Site. Cookies also track where you travel on our Site and what you review. A clear GIF is typically a one-pixel, transparent image (although it can be a visible image as well) located on a web page or in an email or other type of message that’s retrieved from a remote site on the Internet to verify that an individual has viewed or received a web page or message.

IP Address Tracking and Clickstream Data

In addition to Cookies and Clear GIFs, our servers automatically collect data about your server’s Internet address when you visit our Site. This information, known as an Internet Protocol Address, or “IP Address,” is a number that’s automatically assigned to your device by your Internet Service Provider whenever you’re on the Internet. When you view pages from our Site, our servers may record or “log” your IP Address and, sometimes, your domain name. Our server also may record the page that linked you to us, as well as related information (including any ads on which you may have clicked). Such information is known as “Clickstream Data.”

Interconnectivity

If you receive emails or an RSS feed from us, we may use certain tools to capture data concerning when you open our messages, click on any links or banners they contain, and/or make any purchases as a result.

In some cases, we may link the non-personal information collected through the Tracking Technologies to some of your Personal Information. WE WANT TO BE SURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ACCEPTING TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES ONTO YOUR DEVICE IN NO WAY GIVES US ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE OR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU. YOU MAY SET YOUR WEB BROWSER’S SOFTWARE TO REJECT TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES, BUT IF YOU DO, CERTAIN FUNCTIONALITY OF THE SITE MAY BE AFFECTED. Third parties (including, but not limited to, software vendors, advertisers, and fulfillment companies) may also use Tracking Technologies through the Site. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT INFORMATION SUCH THIRD PARTIES TRACK OR COLLECT DIRECTLY FROM YOU, AND HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY TRACKING, DATA COLLECTION, OR OTHER ACTIVITIES OF SUCH THIRD PARTIES.

Personal Information Definition

“Personal Information”, as referenced throughout the Privacy Policy, is inclusive of information set forth in the “Information About You” and “Site Usage Information” sections of this Privacy Policy.

3. Security of the Information You Provide

Among our priorities is keeping your Personal Information secure. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all of your Personal Information before it’s transmitted to us so that it can be safeguarded as much as possible from being read or recorded as it travels over the Internet. You can tell you’re sending information securely by the unbroken key icon, or closed lock icon, that appears at the top or bottom of your Internet browser's window. These icons will appear when you’re placing an order on our Site. In this regard, when accessing or reviewing your Personal Information, you’ll see our Site address change slightly, from http: to https:, indicating the use of a secure server connection. The servers that store your Personal Information employ firewall and security technology. We employ these procedures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, and/or disclosure.

You may choose to create a customer account on our Site employing a username and password. We recommend you exercise extreme care in protecting your customer account information and not publicly share your username or password. You’re responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality of your account password, and you’re responsible for any access to, or use of, the Site by you or another person or entity using your password, whether or not such access or use has been authorized by, or on behalf of, you.

Your Personal Information will be stored and processed on our computers in the United States. The laws relating to holding Personal Information in the United States may vary, and be less stringent, than the corresponding laws of your state or country. We’ll use commercially reasonable efforts to hold and transmit your Personal Information in a safe, confidential, and secure manner. If you object to your Personal Information being transferred or used in this way, please don’t register with, or use, the Site.

ALTHOUGH WE’LL TAKE (AND REQUIRE OUR THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS TO TAKE) REASONABLE SECURITY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THE PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM, AND STORED ON, THE SITE, BECAUSE OF THE OPEN NATURE OF THE INTERNET, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT PERSONAL INFORMATION STORED ON OUR SERVERS, TRANSMITTED TO OR FROM A USER, OR OTHERWISE PLACED IN OUR CARE WILL BE COMPLETELY PROTECTED FROM THE INTRUSION BY OTHERS, SUCH AS HACKERS. ACCORDINGLY, WE DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY THEFT OR LOSS OF, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OR DAMAGE TO, OR INTERCEPTION OF ANY DATA OR COMMUNICATIONS. BY USING THE SITE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO ASSUME THESE RISKS.

4. How Do We Use the Information that You Provide and We Collect?

We collect your name, phone number, e-mail address and one or more physical addresses to process orders you make on our Site, allow us to communicate with you regarding your orders, provide services you’ve chosen, allow you to create a profile on our Site, allow us to notify you in the event a data breach occurs, and to improve our ability to provide you with customer service. We may also use your e-mail address to communicate with you for marketing purposes and to gather feedback.

We collect your IP address and web log information related to your device and the activities you undertake on our website, and we use cookies, to provide you with a usable website, improve the functionality of the Site, improve the content on the Site, improve our ability to provide you with customer service, determine how you found out about us, determine your interests regarding our products and services, develop our business strategy and to improve our online marketing.

In order to carry out the above purposes, we retain Personal Information on an ongoing basis and in a secure manner. Additionally, to achieve the purposes described above, we may combine information we collect on the Site with information we receive from other sources. We don’t sell Personal Information, and we don’t disclose Personal Information to any other party, except as set forth in this Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, any non-Personal Information you transmit to the Site, or we collect via the Site, will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary. You agree that we may use any such non-Personal Information (together with any ideas, concepts, know-how, or techniques contained therein) in any manner, for any purpose, without credit or compensation to you.

Sharing of Your Information With Our Partners; Transfer of Your Information

We may provide your Personal Information to our associates, and to companies acting as our authorized agents or partners, consistent with the purposes for collection described in this Privacy Policy. We screen, and reasonably determine to be reputable, any third party to whom we disclose such information, and we require such third parties to agree to use the Personal Information only for such specified purposes. Each of our partners must agree to implement and maintain reasonable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of your Personal Information to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, and/or disclosure.

If we merge, or sell, or otherwise transfer our assets, Site, or operations, we may disclose or transfer your Personal Information as a part of such a transaction.

Use of Information in Promotions

Occasionally, we may run a "Promotion", and you’ll be given the opportunity to receive a promotional gift by registering with the Site. Your registration information may be used to notify you about the Promotion. When you enter such a Promotion, you’ll be able to consent to receive future communications from us. Since we value your privacy, you’ll always have the chance to stop such communications as detailed below.
